There is scant biographical information available on Tom Norman, however, the padre Skipper Partridge makes reference to him in Arch Grant’s book. According to the story, Partridge met Tom Norman, then over 70 years of age, during his travels in 1917. He regaled him an early pioneer. The only other information on Norman was he went to Macumba in 1863, the first person to do so after John Stuart. He worked for Sir Thomas Elder and was put in charge of ten Afghans and 30,000 sheep (Grant 108).
