Actions on Results

Why use Search Results?

Heurist provides a range of special actions that can be carried out on several of your bookmarks at once, including deleting them, adding keywords to them, notifying colleagues of interesting resources, setting ratings and (not yet implemented) changing other types of data for a batch of records.

How to Use Search Results

Click on the Show Actions link under the search list to open out the (feature rich) set of controls. Click on the checkbox left of the entries to select the resources to which you wish to apply the action (click Select All or Desect All to check or clear all checkboxes).

Enter data for the action (if applicable) and click the appropriate button.

Future Plans

The list and functionality of actions is still being developed as of 03/06, which is why some actions are greyed out. The layout will also be improved - substnatially - when we get around to it

Editing container resources: When a resource is in display-only mode, it will have a link on the righthand side of its title bar which reads "Bookmark this resource" or "Edit this resource". Bookmarking the resource adds a bookmark to it in your personal space (My References), which makes it easy for you to find and edit it. Editing the resource allows you to edit both your personal view of it (the Personal Info tab) and the shared view (Public Info tab).
