Blogs in Heurist have the following functions and capacities:

Rich, flexible blog view provides unique functionality not available in other blogs
Blog entries implemented as a standard record type with all standard functions
Blog entries behave like any other – search, tag, link, share, geographically locate etc
Blog entry uses standard extended text field, comments use standard discussion field
Blog entries can be shared across blogs simply by bookmarking
Blog view can display non-blog record types including standard field data
Blog view can display related records, hyperlinks, record thumbnails, map etc
Shared workgroup blogs allow editing by any member of workgroup

In Heurist, a blog entry is a fully-fledged record in a Heurist database. That means you can re-use the data in many other ways:

Create relationships between a blog entry and people, events, bibliographic references or any of the other 70+ record types in Heurist
Attach geographic and time locations to your blog entries (and create maps and timelines from them)
Use Heurist's search and publishing engine to find, reformat and publish blog entries live to other web pages
Insert other Heurist records in the blog entry as dynamic content (including images and other media objects)
Create extended blog entries with granular permissions (read and/or write) on individual paragraphs down to individual users or workgroups
