Cite in Word adds tools to Microsoft Word which allow searching for a reference in Heurist from within a Word document, creation of a reference in the text, and (re)building a bibliography from these references at the end of the document.

What does Cite in Word do?


Installing the bibliography citation tool places three buttons in a toolbar in Microsoft Word. The button functions are as follows, a:


  1. reference search which finds references in the Heurist database and inserts them in your text;
  2. bibliography builder which generates a formatted bibliography from those references at the end of your document;
  3. configuration function.



Update: August 2009: we are aware that the MS Word add-in is one of the weakest functions in Heurist. The format of the bibliography generated cannot be changed (except by manually editing it). If its limitatiosn bug you, bug us ...
